is the capital city of North Carolina. With a population
of approximately 400000, it is
the third fastest growing city in the United States.
Raleigh is known as the "city of oaks" for the large number of oak
trees growing on its rolling landscape.

North Carolina State University is
located in Raleigh and, with the University of North Carolina in Chapell Hill and Duke in Durham,
constitutes one of the vertices of the "Research Triangle".
