CDSA

CDSA is a 10-week program. In 2024 it will run from Tuesday, May 28 through Wednesday, July 31. Given the strong integration of lectures, group activities, and tutorials, we require all students to be on campus ready to learn by the first day of the program. Early arrivals are possible.

Students participating in this NSF-funded program will receive a stipend of $7000 plus expenses for travel to and from Raleigh and on-campus housing during the 10-week program. Additional funding may be available for students to present their research at a relevant scientific conference after their summer residency.

Arriving by air: Raleigh is served by the Raleigh-Durham International Airport (www.rdu.com) in nearby Research Triangle Park.

Arriving by car: Directions to the Physics Department, housed in Riddick Hall, are available at physics.sciences.ncsu.edu/about/visit.

CDSA students are provided housing in a university dormitory as part of the award. Students from more than a dozen REU programs across the NC State campus are housed near each other, providing a diverse community of residents with the common experience of pursuing original research in their chosen field. Each air-conditioned room is equipped with Internet connections, access to cable TV, a mini fridge, and microwave. Convenience stores, computer lab, mailboxes, and meeting space are available near the dorms.

CDSA students will be housed in Wolf Village for the summer of 2024. The apartments in Wolf Village have 4 individual bedrooms each with a double bed, 2 bathrooms, living room, kitchen with microwave, stove and refrigerator.
